With the release of Christopher Nolan’s adaptation of Homer’s Odyssey, we can take you and your private group on a theatrical, narrative-driven superyacht voyage that retraces Odysseus’s journey home after the Trojan war.

From thwarting a cyclops formed of drones and indulging with a siren’s table dinner to a world-leading Homer scholar bringing it all to life, nights in Trojan camp setups and aboard one of the world’s finest sailing vessels will form a fully immersive production.

Immersive activations

Across the eight-day journey, you’ll find yourself immersed in a series of different ‘hero’ moments – each a highly crafted, high-production set-piece acting as a narrative anchor – you’ll be inside the story from start to finish.
One day might bring a Lotus-eater beach party – set up in a secluded cove with fire dancers, palm readers and dinner cooked over an open flame. Another might bring you face to face with the cyclops, Polyphemus, brought to life through a drone show or puppet performance – each moment propelling your group further into Odysseus’s journey.

The Oracle Tiresias

Central to ancient Greek mythology, she is prominent in The Odyssey, where Odysseus seeks his help to find his way home. A blind, gender-fluid prophet with all-knowing insight, Tiresias appears throughout the trip to warn, advise, direct and narrate the story. Rather than an antiquated depiction, Tiresias appears as a modern, androgynous, high-fashion manifestation projected onto the sails each evening, their voice glitching between male and female.

Expert insights

Seeking the advice of Dr Antony Makrinos – leading Homer expert and associate professor of classics at University College London – has allowed us to ensure historical accuracy and authenticity throughout the itinerary. And, with his expert guidance we are able to secure special permits and access to ancient sites others cannot.

Companion app

Running parallel to the physical activations can be a bespoke app – the digital connective tissue of the voyage, simultaneously a map, oracle, game and journal. It will track progress, present quests, dilemmas and challenges drawn from the world of Homer’s Odyssey, pushed via geolocation at specific points along the route. Each interaction builds a portrait of the traveller – their leadership, bravery, wit and loyalty. By the journey’s end, one of the group will be deemed a worthy leader, answering the question: “Who would make the best Odysseus?”

An iconic vessel

You’ll be aboard a suitably impresssive vessel, such as Black Pearl – an award-winning sailing yacht offering the perfect mix of luxurious living and sailing adventure. Accommodating up to 12 guests across 7 suites, including a spacious master suite, the opulent interior boasts neoclassical details throughout – from ornate wooden detailing to gold accents and silk carpets.

In this private epic, myth and journey merge in an entirely new format of narrative-led luxury travel, built around story, character and choice. Guests are cast as the protagonists of The Odyssey and their actions, choices and conversations all feed back into a personalised conclusion.

With the likes of recurring projected characters, a custom-built companion app, ambient soundscaping and a hidden actor planted as the yacht’s First Officer, the storyline is maintained between each ‘hero’ activation, from the moment you board your private jet to the final Greek dinner on Ithaca.

Starting at a Trojan horse camp, built just for you atop a cliff overlooking the ocean, the camp mimics the iconic Trojan Horse, in which Odysseus and his men hid before launching their night-time attack on Troy. Spending the first night here is a chance to settle in and celebrate the start of your adventure.

The Odyssey: A yachting experience for the ages

Over the course of a week, you’ll stay aboard an award-winning sailing yacht, making your way through the Mediterranean, plotting your course home while resisting attempts to push you off it – encountering sirens, Lotus Eaters, a cyclops and descending into the underworld.

Alongside the immersive ‘hero’ moments, elegant dining setups, Greek cooking masterclasses and private after-dark visits to ancient ruins all bring Greece to life in ways few travellers ever experience.

However, this isn’t only an opportunity to live within the story – it’s a chance to create real-world environmental impact. Woven into the storytelling, the conservation activation forms a meaningful narrative beat: a chance to curry favour with the gods. You’ll participate in the likes of loggerhead turtle conservation or dolphin research projects. That might include nest monitoring, baby turtle releases and turtle identification for the loggerhead project, or tracking, photographing and identifying bottlenose and short-beaked dolphins for the dolphin research.
