Cookson Adventures appoints David Godfrey as Head of Creative

London, October 2026 – Ultra-luxury travel company Cookson Adventures announces the appointment of David Godfrey as Head of Creative, a newly created role. Godfrey brings more than 25 years of experience and joins from Condé Nast, where as Creative Director he led and inspired teams across a portfolio of titles including British Vogue, British GQ, Tatler, House & Garden and Condé Nast Traveller.

The appointment reflects Cookson Adventures’ commitment to exceptional visual storytelling as it strengthens its position as a world-leading experiential travel company. It follows the 2025 launch of Cookson Productions, the company’s in-house production arm, which creates cinematic personalised films and photo albums for clients, as well as short conservation documentaries edited for public release.

Godfrey will lead the creative direction of the Cookson Adventures brand and visual identity through a period of sustained growth. He will also shape how the company tells the stories behind its clients’ journeys, from private invitations to visit island communities in Papua New Guinea to rhino translocations organised alongside thought leadership retreats.

Having studied art and graphic design at Central Saint Martins, Godfrey has built a career leading large creative teams across multidisciplinary projects. He has held Creative Director and Art Director roles at some of the UK’s leading publishers, including Condé Nast, Hearst and the Illustrated London News. His experience spans art direction, photography, film, design, typography and events, and he has forged partnerships with brands including Aston Martin, Estée Lauder, TAG Heuer, BMW, the Ritz and eBay.

David Godfrey, Head of Creative; I’m delighted to join such an established and well-loved travel brand at a pivotal moment in its growth. There is real scope to bring my experience to the fore and to introduce the brand to a wider international audience.

It’s rare to join a team this passionate, led by an inspirational founder and so united in making a positive impact on the world through travel. My goal is to capture the emotional connection so many people feel on a Cookson adventure. In an increasingly digital, AI-driven world, we want to lean even further into the humanity of the brand.

Nick Davies, Managing Director of Cookson Adventures; David brings a strong body of work and a deep understanding of the luxury market from a career spanning some of the most respected titles in publishing. We look forward to him bringing that same exceptional visual storytelling to Cookson Adventures as we grow our presence in the United States and expand the team at our new headquarters in Bloomsbury, London.

Cookson Adventures was founded in 2007 by avid adventurer and polar world record holder Henry Cookson. The company has built a reputation for creating pioneering travel experiences for a global clientele looking to explore untapped, remote corners of the world, whilst enjoying the highest level of elegance.

Over the past 19 years, Cookson Adventures has experienced sustained growth, delivering highly specialised travel and conservation-led experiences that provide clients with access to some of the world’s most remote and biologically diverse environments. The company has achieved several industry firsts, including facilitating the first private manned submersible dive in Antarctica and contributing to the discovery of a previously unidentified sub-species of orca off Cape Horn. These expeditions are made possible through Cookson Adventures’ extensive global network of experts, encompassing scientists, marine biologists, conservationists and award-winning photographers. As the company continues to expand, this appointment supports the ongoing realisation of the founder’s long-term vision.
