Photography & videography from an award-winning team

Our production arm is – first and foremost – set up to serve our clients, capturing their trips with personalised after-movies, photo albums and even Netflix-style documentaries.

Our in-house team include award-winning video editors, widely published photographers and project managers that have worked on David Attenborough productions, and are joined by a collective of the world’s best travel shooters.

Outside of our client trips, our photography has been published everywhere from the front page of the New York Times website to the cover of the Financial Times, and our documentaries have premiered at London’s Royal Geographical Society and New York’s Explorer’s Club.

To our knowledge, we’re the first travel company to publish a book that only features images taken on its own trips.

VIDEO RUSHES CAPTURED

Cookson Adventures takes inspiration from David Attenborough documentaries, providing clients with a team of cinematographers who can create everything from daily film edits that are screened in the lodge or a super yacht’s media room in the evening, to epic reels for clients to share on social media and mini-documentaries on conservation projects they’ve been involved in.

Top shooters

An award-winning network

Alongside our in-house head of photography and videography, whose work has been published everywhere from the Financial Times to Vanity Fair, we have a global network of expert shooters. And, we’ll put together a team to suit your requirements. That could be a portraiture specialist for intimate family moments, an underwater photographer for your dive trip or drone operators to capture hype reels for your social media.

Video edits

Created just for you

From intimate family moments around the campfire and after-movies of your adventure to Netflix-style sports documentaries and sizzle edits of your epic friends’ getaway, we’ll create the edits around your tastes – down to consulting with you on the music you like. We’ve even brought editors along to create daily edits for those looking to share updates on social media or to be shown in your yacht’s cinema room, so you can look back in wonder at the day’s events.

Stills

Of what matters most

We’ll work with you to capture what’s important to you, whether that’s precious time spent between grandchildren and grandparents or those blockbuster shots of your adventures to post online. Alongside delivering digital versions on your own portal, we also create incredible photo books. Designed in house, handmade in the UK and printed by an award-winning photo lab, they serve as a rare, physical memento of your trip.

Documentaries

Both private and public

We’ve pioneered the concept of documentary-style shoots in private travel, with our clients able to take away narrative movies from their trips. Think behind-the-scenes talks with the guides that have put together a world-first wildlife experience for you, creating an Attenborough-style narration of your trip. Or, for an expedition, interviewing your guests to create a sports documentary on how they responded to the challenges they face. Throughout, we draw on the expertise we’ve built up producing public documentaries on the conservation projects our trips have platformed. They’ve been shown at film festivals and premiered at prestigious venues, including New York’s Explorers Club.

Our documentarian approach

We’ve always integrated conservational and philanthropic elements into our trips, matching our clients with causes close to their heart. This means our guests not only get to go behind the scenes – getting hands on and educating their group or family – but they platform and make a genuine difference to truly impactful projects.

Given Cookson Productions’ film-making capabilities, it came as a natural progression to start documenting these big projects, with the idea to raise awareness around them. They’ve gone on to premiere at the likes of London’s Royal Geographical Society, as well as being shown at film festivals in the UK.
