Dunia Baru
Phinisi meets superyacht
It would be difficult to find a more fitting and impressive vessel on which to explore Indonesia’s islands than Dunia Baru. Inspired by traditional phinisi design, yet with all the high-tech equipment and systems that you’d expect to find on a typical superyacht, she is a perfect meeting of old and new.
She is perhaps the finest ship to have ever been constructed in Indonesia and the culmination of centuries of Konjo shipwright craft. Everything – from the hull to the bar stools to the door hinges – was hand-crafted. While no expense has been spared in ensuring that Dunia Baru is an ultra-luxury vessel, she still feels organic and entirely connected to her surroundings.
Up to 14 passengers can be hosted in spacious timber staterooms, all looked after by a crew of 18. Wonderful social spaces inside include a galley and library, with expansive deck areas outside to sunbathe, watch the sun set as you dine, or admire the stars from beanbags on the foredeck. For those after some adventure, Dunia Baru is well kitted out for discovering the region’s most beautiful islands, with tenders, jet skis, sea kayaks and scuba diving equipment.
