Special insight into some of the planet’s geographical riches
Sailing through dramatic fjord waterways and along cragged coasts, travelling by yacht is the best way to experience Norway’s stunning geography. With our knowledge of the region, you’ll be able to avoid the crowds and enjoy the flexibility to discover hidden islets for lunch setups or waterfalls to explore by SUP.
As we did in 2015, you might even discover a secret cave to explore for yourself. After all, we’ve organised some of the most impressive yacht charters and experiences, whether that’s taking clients or Financial Times journalists swimming with orcas or organising an epic family superyacht adventure – saluted with a wingsuit flyby as they travelled.
All imagery and video on this page has been taken on our tripsWhether it’s summer’s midnight sun or winter’s northern lights, adventures in Norway are often marked by celestial phenomena. With us, that could mean admiring the aurora borealis on deck in the company of a leading astronomer or toasting a near-sunset glow on a mountain-top dinner setup, reachable only by helicopter.
And, travelling by yacht, we’ll adapt your route to make the best of the weather, marine traffic and your preferences. That could mean spotting a fjord inlet to explore by jet ski or finding a remote white-sand bay for a party in the wilderness.
Of course, that’s alongside plenty of extra intrigue that’s entirely unique to this fascinating country. That might be meeting the indigenous Samí people and foraging for artisan ingredients in the company of a top chef to be prepared at your beach barbecue. Or, it could be something more adventurous. Norway is an outdoors playground where we know the best hidden spots for everything from mountain biking and rock climbing with professional athletes to exploring WWII wrecks in submersibles and e-foil racing on custom courses.
Under the waves
Heading out with whale researchers among the mighty fjord network, we can see you get in the water to come face to face with one of the world's great predators – the orca. It's a once-in-a-lifetime privilege to observe their graceful movement, majestic breaches and feeding patterns up close. Alternatively, take a submersible or dive down to hidden WWII-era destroyers.
Above the surface
Get closer by taking jet skis, speed boats and kayaks or SUPs through the fjords, mapping cragged coastlines and admiring thundering waterfalls from a matter of metres. There’s also everything from waterskis and efoiling to white-water rafting and world-class fishing. We’ve even discovered and explored remote coastal caves on our trips.
On the land
Taking your yacht to secluded bays well off the beaten track, we’ll bring you ashore to explore Norway’s stunning scenery. That could be gentle hikes with incredible fjord overlooks or rock climbing and epic mountain/road biking while wingsuits fly by to salute you. Cap it all off with a private-chef lunch setup or a night in a luxury camp.
Wildlife experiences
With our conservationist contacts, we can see you track lynxes, come face-to-face with wolves and search for puffins and sea eagles, near the world’s strongest maelstrom.
Unique heritage
Indulge with a Viking feast in a 83m longhouse in the company of a leading historian. Join the seminomadic Samí people to lend a hand with their centuries-old reindeer herding traditions. Or, join local fishermen to catch your dinner, later prepared by a world-class chef in a traditional red cabin, stilted out over the water.
Norway from above
With such wild topography, Norway is often best appreciated from the air. While there’s paragliding and skydiving for the more adventurous, we use helicopters to bring our clients to remote, otherwise-inaccessible locations – perhaps for a spot of summer skiing or a dramatic lunch setup on a remote glacier.
The Lofoten Islands
This Arctic archipelago rises out of the Atlantic in a series of kilometre-high peaks, forming spectacular fjords and idyllic bays – perfect for yacht exploration. It’s a dramatic backdrop, whether you’d like gentle beach horse rides and Michelin-standard dinners of traditional foraged ingredients or a dose of high-octane fun. Think skydiving down to meet pre-positioned SUPs before a mountain bike adventure culminates in Arctic surfing and a night in a luxury camp, spearfishing for your celebratory dinner.
Winter fun
We can bring you on everything from gentle snowshoeing hikes over frozen lakes to some adrenaline-thrill activities, dogsledding with a local polar explorer who’s the first person to complete a solo crossing of the Antarctic. There’s also the likes of snowmobiling, cross-country skiing and ice fishing to try your hand at.
