Media internship

About us

Cookson Adventures specialises in crafting the most creative travel experiences on the planet, counting some of the world’s most successful individuals among our clients.

We’ve discovered both Roman shipwrecks and a new species of killer whale, rehomed giant tortoises by helicopter, and been the very first to pilot a private submersible in Antarctica.

As a team, we are dynamic, driven and share a passion for meaningful travel, with a focus towards environmental sustainability.

We have well-located offices in Holland Park, close to the leisure facilities of Westfield Shopping Centre and only a few minutes’ walk from the Central line and overground stations.

The role is primarily office based due to the location of the servers, with flexible working from home when required.

The role

Your time will be focused on learning to manage and edit both video and stills media, while working within a media team. You’ll be reporting into the head of marketing but working with and learning from the wider team, including our social media manager, content designer, in-house photographer/videographer and head of communications.

As such, you’ll be provided with training on applications like Adobe Premiere Pro, Photoshop and Lightroom as you learn to edit still and video media under direction. You’ll be creating content for a variety of marketing channels, from social media and web to e-newsletters and direct-to-client proposals.

To support this, your main responsibility will be selecting and editing stills to catalogue them on our digital asset management (DAM) system. You’ll also be working to create stringouts/selects of video assets.

Examples of media you’ll be working with:

  • A conservation yacht trip to the Galápagos
  • Floating aurora camps in Iceland
  • Sub diving on shipwrecks
  • Heli safaris in Scotland
  • Large-scale Caribbean event with private A-list performance
  • Conservation trip to Panama private island

There’s also plenty of opportunity to get involved with the wider company, learning about the work that goes into putting together world-first adventures. That could be sitting in on and contributing to project planning meetings or gaining an awareness of trip budgeting and company reporting.

Skills

Media management – you’ll be assisting with the processing and management of both new, inbound media and a large library of media captured on past trips

Editing – exposure to, or a passion to learn the process behind, editing stills and video. It would be highly beneficial if you had some experience working with Premiere Pro, Lightroom or Photoshop

Social media and marketing edits – you’ll be leveraging both current and historic media to create a wide variety of content for social media, as well as other marketing channels. As such, you’ll have a keen interest in social media and digital marketing
